Spring Touch

Yixuan He Oil painting on canvas 50 x 60cm 2022   I created this painting to ponder people’s understanding of nature in urbanized today. Our optimistic, over-romanticization of nature has already deviated from the current social context. I hope to provoke this reflection by creating pixel oscillation effects near the tree branches to challenge conventional realistic landscape painting. This work is also my self-portrait: much like the little squirrel trying to grasp its reflection in the pond, I often find myself pursuing the impossible and the unimagined, in which I firmly believe individuals can make a meaningful difference.
